Skiing at Lutsen

Laura and I and a bunch of friends went up to Lutsen last weekend for a quick ski getaway. It was awesome. I’m very impressed with the skiing at Lutsen. It’s nothing like the mountains I grew up skiing in Northern New Mexico, but it’s some very nice terrain for a “fly-over state”. There is about 1000 feet of vertical and most of the runs overlook Lake Superior. I think the scenery is as nice as anywhere I’ve skied before. Here’s a picture of Me and Laura on Moose Mountain.

We stayed at the Town homes at Caribou Highlands. I recommend them highly.

Lutsen rocks. That’s where I learned to ski. Without driving to Montana, it’s the best in the Midwest, although the places in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula just across the border from Northern Wisconsin aren’t bad.
